US Signal Invests $200 Million in Data Center and Fiber Expansion

US Signal has announced a $200 million investment to expand its data centers in Detroit Metro and Des Moines, and deploy over 1,000 miles of new fiber, according to a press release.

US Signal has announced a significant expansion of its infrastructure with a $200 million investment, announced in a press release. This investment will enhance the company's data centers in Detroit Metro and Des Moines, adding 3 megawatts (MW) and 6 MW of commercial power, respectively.

In addition to the data center expansions, US Signal is deploying over 1,000 miles of new ultra-dense fiber and conduit across key U.S. corridors. This initiative aims to create a high-capacity backbone to support AI and cloud applications at scale. The new infrastructure will include micro-edge data centers for fiber regeneration and colocation, enhancing edge-to-core performance.

The expansion is designed to meet the needs of hyperscalers, cloud providers, and enterprise customers requiring high-density power and cooling infrastructure for modern AI and edge workloads. Supported by Igneo Infrastructure Partners, this move positions US Signal as a leader in cloud, colocation, and next-generation AI infrastructure.
