UpCodes Introduces AI Plan Review for Building Code Compliance
UpCodes has introduced Plan Review, an AI plan analysis feature for its quality assurance and quality control platform, announced in a press release. The new tool automatically checks project drawings against UpCodes' library of 11 million locally adopted building codes.
Plan Review allows users to set project parameters such as jurisdiction, code year, and building type once, then run analyses across disciplines including architecture, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, life safety, accessibility, and energy. The system flags discrepancies between plans and specifications, organizes issues by severity and category, and links them to the relevant code sections and drawing pages.
Teams can filter, comment, assign, and track issues within the platform. UpCodes' AI Copilot can provide code interpretation directly within each issue. Users can rerun analyses after drawings are updated and export reports for collaboration with consultants, clients, or government officials.
The company states that this feature aims to replace manual review processes with a consistent, AI supported approach that helps identify compliance issues earlier in the project workflow.
