Tencent Cloud announced at MWC Barcelona the opening of a new availability zone in Frankfurt, expanding its European infrastructure to three zones in Germany, according to a press release. The zone will open to customers in the second quarter of 2026 and aims to strengthen performance, resilience, and capacity for European clients.

The new Frankfurt availability zone will provide access to Tencent Cloud’s portfolio of services, including the HY 3D AI creation engine, Super App as a Service, CDN, networking, and video streaming solutions. Data will be hosted locally in Germany, complying with European data regulations.

Tencent Cloud’s HY 3D AI creation engine is gaining adoption among European companies such as 3D AI Studio, CGTrader, and Maxon. These firms are using the technology to streamline 3D content creation workflows and integrate generative AI capabilities into their tools. Additionally, Turkish payment platform iyzico BV has built its first cloud-based production platform in Europe using Tencent Cloud’s infrastructure.

The expansion supports Tencent Cloud’s goal of scaling its AI and cloud services globally. The company currently serves hundreds of thousands of enterprises across 30 industries and continues to broaden its infrastructure footprint in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
