Supermicro Expands Manufacturing with New Silicon Valley Campus
Supermicro, Inc. has announced plans to expand its manufacturing capacity with a third campus in Silicon Valley, announced in a press release. The new campus will cover nearly 3 million square feet upon completion, with the first building alone spanning over 300,000 square feet.
This expansion aims to bolster Supermicro's position as a leader in IT solutions, particularly in liquid-cooled and Data Center Building Block Solutions® for data centers. The development is expected to create hundreds of new jobs in engineering, production, and corporate roles, contributing to economic growth in San Jose.
Supermicro's CEO, Charles Liang, highlighted the importance of liquid-cooled data centers in meeting the increasing demands of AI factories. The company currently has the capacity to deliver 5,000 air-cooled or 2,000 liquid-cooled racks per month. Construction of the new site is set to begin in 2025, with support from local government and utility providers like PG&E.
