Stratus Launches Stratus Labs for AI Fabrication Tools
Stratus has launched Stratus Labs, an AI and innovation arm for its digital fabrication platform, and introduced agentic spooling tools and a Big Data MCP Server, the company announced in a press release.
The announcement was made at Innovate 2026, a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing event hosted by Stratus in Seattle from August 18 to 20. Stratus said the new group is led by Jonathan Umscheid, the company cofounder and chief innovation officer.
The first Stratus Labs tools focus on spooling and assembly work across piping and plumbing, sheet metal, and electrical trades. Assembly Matcher clones existing modeled assemblies, Assembly Designer applies size and weight constraints, and Assembly Agent uses AI and machine learning trained on customer models to predict new assemblies.
The Big Data MCP Server gives AI tools access to Stratus Big Data so customers and partners can build workflows on top of it. Stratus said the capabilities are available to customers in an experimental environment upon request, and Innovate 2026 attendees can preview results using their own models and data.
