SLB Introduces Tela, an Agentic AI Assistant for Energy Operations
SLB has announced the launch of Tela, an agentic AI assistant developed to enhance automation and decision-making across the energy sector. The company described Tela as a system capable of observing, planning, generating, acting, and learning within its environment to continuously improve operational outcomes.
Tela will be embedded across SLB’s software platforms and accessible through a conversational interface. The AI agents can collaborate with human operators or function autonomously to perform tasks such as interpreting well logs, predicting drilling challenges, and optimizing equipment performance.
Powered by SLB’s Lumi data and AI platform, Tela combines large language models and domain foundation models to understand technical contexts and adapt workflows in real time. The system allows customers to build and manage their own agents or integrate third-party solutions suited to their operations.
The company stated that Tela is available for deployment across cloud and on-premises environments, supporting its broader focus on expanding digital solutions within the energy industry.
