Showroom.fm Launches Platform to Make In-Store Displays Discoverable by AI
Berlin-based Showroom.fm has launched a platform that allows physical retailers to publish information about items currently on display in their stores, announced in a press release. The system provides structured, AI-readable data that can be used by search engines and AI assistants to answer questions such as “Where can I try this today?”
The platform enables retailers to upload and maintain showroom items through a simple dashboard, offering standardized structured data built on schema.org conventions. Retailers can create AI-ready feeds that external systems can read instantly, while manufacturers can import these feeds to improve the accuracy of customer inquiries.
Showroom.fm also includes embeddable showroom modules for retailers’ websites and optional API access for automated updates. The platform supports object-level timestamps to signal data freshness and reliability to AI systems.
The launch aligns with the introduction of a new schema.org property called “displayLocation,” which standardizes how websites communicate on-display items. Showroom.fm contributed to this new property’s development, making it the first platform built around the capability to publish authoritative “on display” information in a consistent, machine-readable format.
