Schneider Electric Introduces Uniflair XCA Chiller Line for AI Data Centers
Schneider Electric announced in a press release the launch of the Uniflair XCA chiller line, a new series of air-cooled and free-cooling systems designed for high-density AI data centers. The Uniflair XCAC and XCAF models integrate oil-free centrifugal compressors with magnetic bearing technology and variable speed drives to improve energy performance and operational stability.
The Uniflair XCA line includes six sizes of chillers, ranging from 1,200 kW to 2,500 kW of cooling capacity, each offering an Energy Efficiency Ratio of 4.66. These units use low-GWP refrigerants and are built to operate efficiently across a wide temperature range, supporting elevated water temperatures for improved sustainability.
The system features spray-type evaporators, V-shape microchannel coils, and large EC fans to enhance heat exchange and reduce noise. Free-cooling models can achieve up to 60 percent energy savings in moderate climates by minimizing reliance on mechanical cooling. The chillers are designed to operate in environmental conditions from -20°C to +52°C.
Additional features include quick restart capability, allowing full operation within three minutes after power loss, and integrated firmware for real-time performance optimization. The first Uniflair XCA units are scheduled for global shipment in June 2026.
