SAP and Mistral AI Expand Partnership for European Sovereign AI

SAP announced an expanded partnership with Mistral AI at the Franco-German EU Summit on Digital Sovereignty in Berlin, according to SAP News. The collaboration aims to deliver secure, scalable sovereign AI solutions that strengthen Europe’s digital independence.

The partnership will integrate Mistral AI’s frontier models and products into SAP’s Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). This includes the addition of Mistral AI Studio and Le Chat to SAP’s AI Foundation, enabling customers to build and deploy AI applications within their own environments while maintaining data sovereignty and compliance.

SAP and Mistral AI will co-develop industry-specific AI applications and jointly pursue sales opportunities. A dedicated sovereignty pillar will focus on serving European public services and regulated sectors, starting in Germany, with potential expansion across industries.

The initiative builds on SAP’s existing locally hosted AI infrastructure introduced in 2024, extending its capabilities to include Mistral’s technology as part of a broader European sovereign AI foundation.
