RIVANNA Files 100th Patent for Ultrasound AI

RIVANNA said in a press release that its 100th patent filing covers an AI system that identifies pathology from volumetric ultrasound images. U.S. patent application #64/080,862 applies to the Accuro XV platform and covers image acquisition, enhancement, decision assistance, workflow controls, and fracture detection.

The company now holds more than 100 active issued and pending patents across over 20 patent families in the United States, Europe, Japan, and China. The portfolio covers AI, machine learning, cloud analytics, robotics, image processing, workflows, hardware, and interfaces.

The shared technology supports two product lines with FDA clearance. Accuro 3S provides guidance for needle or catheter placement, while Accuro XV supports musculoskeletal imaging. A multicenter Accuro XV study has expanded from two to eight academic medical centers, with ten systems deployed and more than 1,800 patients enrolled.
