Rhythm AI Study Reports 90% Freedom From Atrial Fibrillation

Rhythm AI said in a press release that 90% of patients treated with its STAR mapping approach during repeat ablation procedures were free from atrial fibrillation after one year. The STAR Apollo study evaluated 50 patients with persistent atrial fibrillation that had returned after pulmonary vein isolation.

The prospective, single arm study took place at four US centers. Its procedural feasibility endpoint was met in all patients, while 73% had no recurrence of any arrhythmia after one year.

Rhythm AI reported no procedure related deaths, strokes, or atrioesophageal fistulas. Few patients needed another intervention, and the median procedure lasted just over two hours.

The STAR Apollo Mapping System uses activation patterns to identify potential atrial fibrillation drivers for each patient. The system is cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and works with two widely used three dimensional mapping platforms. The results were published in Heart Rhythm Journal and presented at HRX 2026.
