Pyka Partners with Heinen Brothers for U.S. Distribution of Autonomous Crop Aircraft
Pyka has announced its first U.S. distribution agreement with Heinen Brothers Agra Services, as stated in a press release. This partnership will see Heinen Brothers and its subsidiary, Kelly Hills Unmanned Systems, distribute Pyka's Pelican 2, the world's largest autonomous agricultural aircraft, to U.S. growers.
The Pelican 2, authorized by the FAA for commercial use, features an 80-gallon payload and can cover up to 222 acres per hour with its fully autonomous flight capability. This collaboration aims to bring advanced technology to U.S. farmers, enhancing efficiency and sustainability in agricultural operations.
The partnership was unveiled at the Kelly Hills Unmanned Systems Field Day in Seneca, Kansas, and the first Pelican 2 aircraft are expected to be delivered to customers in the coming months. This move is set to accelerate the adoption of autonomous electric aviation technologies in the agricultural sector.
