Perimeter Medical Imaging AI Partners with Intermountain Health for Cancer Reoperation Study

Perimeter Medical Imaging AI has partnered with Intermountain Health to explore the potential benefits of using Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and artificial intelligence (AI) in reducing cancer reoperations. This collaboration was announced in a press release by Perimeter Medical Imaging AI.

The partnership involves a Development Support Agreement that will facilitate multiple studies, starting with a retrospective analysis of reoperation rates and healthcare costs for patients who underwent breast-conserving surgery at select Intermountain Health sites. The aim is to assess the clinical, social, and economic impacts of using Perimeter's OCT technology.

Intermountain Health, a leading nonprofit health system, will leverage its integrated healthcare delivery system to evaluate the total cost implications of cancer reoperations. This initiative is part of Perimeter's strategy to advance its AI-enabled OCT system through the FDA approval process and expand its application beyond breast cancer surgeries.
