Orion Security Launches AI-Powered Data Protection Platform

Orion Security has emerged from stealth mode with a $6 million seed funding round, announced in a press release. The funding was led by Pico Partners and FXP, with participation from Underscore VC and cybersecurity leaders. The company aims to secure enterprise data from insider threats using generative AI.
The platform automates data loss prevention by leveraging AI to understand and map business processes, addressing a critical challenge for modern enterprises. Orion's approach allows it to distinguish between legitimate business activities and potential data theft or exposure, whether intentional or accidental.
Founded by CEO Nitay Milner and CTO Yonatan Kreiner, Orion Security connects to an organization's cloud services, browsers, and devices to map data movement. Its Indicators of Leakage engine uses proprietary reasoning models to analyze data patterns, detecting potential breaches while integrating with existing security tools.
