1Password Introduces Credential Platform for AI Agents

Oct 22, 2026
1Password for Agents lets AI agents sign in to user accounts without seeing or storing passwords. Users review and approve each credential request on their own device.

1Password announced 1Password for Agents in a press release, introducing a platform that lets personal AI agents use passwords, secrets and other credentials without seeing or storing them. Users keep their credentials in 1Password and approve requests before an agent signs in.

When an agent reaches a sign in form, it verifies its identity to 1Password with a unique digital key. The user sees which credential the agent needs and the stated reason, then approves or rejects the request on their own device. After approval, 1Password fills the credential directly into the form without sending it to the agent.

1Password is building integrations with Muse from Meta, Claude Duet from Anthropic, ChatGPT from OpenAI, SpaceXSI's Grok Bot and Town's Townie. Other participating companies include Browserbase, Browser Use, Dana, Instinct, KERNEL, Perplexity, Ramp, Tomo and Wajo.
