Optimizely Introduces Virtual Teammates for Marketing Teams

September 01, 2026
Optimizely introduced Virtual Teammates, digital coworkers for marketers that can retain context, handle recurring tasks, and work across marketing tools with defined permissions.

Optimizely announced in a press release Virtual Teammates, a set of digital coworkers built to work with marketers across workflows. The company unveiled the product at Opticon on August 31, 2026.

The first Virtual Teammates cover common marketing roles, including Chief of Staff, SEO and AI Search Analyst, Marketing Analyst, Personalization Strategist, and CRO Manager. Teams can assign work, include them in conversations, and set recurring tasks based on schedules or events.

Optimizely said each Virtual Teammate has its own role, identity, responsibilities, and permissions. The system can retain context from prior conversations, projects, and decisions, while organizations can set where human review is required and trace activity back to each teammate identity.

The launch follows an Optimizely study of more than 2,000 B2B marketing leaders. In the study, 81% said they use two or more disconnected AI tools each week, and 19% said they use four or more.
