Opsys Technologies Introduces ALTOS WAY LiDAR System for Wrong Way Detection
Opsys Technologies has introduced ALTOS WAY, a new intelligent transportation system designed to identify wrong way driving incidents using solid state LiDAR and embedded perception technology. The launch was announced in a press release.
ALTOS WAY operates as a roadside unit that continuously tracks vehicles in three dimensions, measuring position, velocity, and direction of travel. When a vehicle moves against traffic, the system generates an immediate alarm for integration with roadside warning systems and traffic management platforms.
The device performs detection and alert generation directly on the sensor, operating continuously and requiring only a single Power over Ethernet connection for both power and communication. Built on the Opsys ALTOS platform, the system combines LiDAR sensing, embedded computing, and perception software in one enclosure.
The solid state design eliminates moving parts, reducing maintenance needs and improving long term reliability. The unit meets NEMA TS2 and Build America, Buy America requirements and is available through Opsys and its distribution partner, Gades Sales Co., Inc.
