OpenText and Capgemini Report Finds GenAI Adoption Growing but Scaling Remains Limited
OpenText, in collaboration with Capgemini and Sogeti, released the 17th edition of the World Quality Report 2025, announced in a press release. The report shows that nearly 90% of organizations are adopting generative AI in quality engineering (QE), but only 15% have achieved enterprise-level deployment.
According to the report, 37% of respondents have GenAI workflows in production and 52% are in pilot phases. However, 43% remain in the experimental stage and 30% use GenAI only in limited cases. Integration complexity (64%), data privacy risks (67%), and skill shortages (50%) are cited as the main barriers to scaling.
The findings also indicate that GenAI use is shifting from analyzing outputs, such as defect reporting, to shaping inputs like test case design and requirements refinement. While organizations report an average productivity increase of 19%, one-third have seen minimal gains, highlighting challenges with integration and alignment.
The report notes that many organizations treat GenAI as a tactical tool rather than a strategic enabler, leading to fragmented implementation. It emphasizes the importance of governance, skill development, and data alignment to fully realize AI’s potential in quality engineering.
