OpenAI Introduces ChatGPT Health for Secure, Personalized Wellness Conversations
OpenAI announced ChatGPT Health in a company post, introducing a dedicated space within ChatGPT for health and wellness discussions. The feature allows users to securely connect their electronic health records and wellness apps, including Apple Health, Function, and MyFitnessPal, to receive personalized information about their health.
ChatGPT Health separates health-related chats from other conversations, ensuring that sensitive information remains private and isolated. Conversations in this section are encrypted, not used for model training, and can be managed or deleted at any time. Users can also enable multifactor authentication for additional security.
The product was developed with input from more than 260 physicians across 60 countries. This collaboration helped refine how ChatGPT Health presents health information and encourages users to seek professional care when necessary. The system uses a framework called HealthBench to assess the clarity and safety of responses.
Initially, ChatGPT Health is available to a limited group of users, with broader access planned in the coming weeks for web and iOS users. Integrations with electronic health records and some wellness apps are currently limited to users in the United States.
