OpenAI Reportedly Targeting $100 Billion Raise at $830 Billion Valuation
OpenAI is in early discussions to raise up to $100 billion in its next funding round, a move that could value the company at as much as $830 billion, according to The Wall Street Journal. The company aims to complete the raise by the end of the first quarter next year, though the final terms and the level of investor demand remain uncertain.
The fundraising effort is intended to support OpenAI's growth plans as it continues to expand its AI capabilities globally. Sources indicate that the company may invite sovereign wealth funds and other large institutional investors to participate in the round.
If successful, this would represent one of the largest private fundraising efforts in history and significantly increase OpenAI’s valuation from the roughly $500 billion level reached in earlier secondary transactions.
