Octave Acquires VXG to Expand Cloud Video Management Portfolio

May 05, 2026
Octave, the planned software spinoff from Hexagon AB, has acquired VXG Inc., a provider of cloud-native video management software, to strengthen its physical security offerings and AI-enhanced cloud capabilities.

Octave, the planned software spinoff from Hexagon, announced in a press release the acquisition of VXG, a provider of enterprise-grade cloud video management software. The move aims to strengthen Octave's physical security portfolio and expand its AI-enhanced cloud capabilities.

VXG's platform supports a wide range of camera models and is designed for service providers offering Video Surveillance as a Service. It includes an AI engine that combines computer vision analytics and generative AI for monitoring, alerts, and evidence workflows. The system is used across sectors including corporate campuses, finance, retail, education, health care, and public safety.

The acquisition builds on a partnership established in June 2025 when Hexagon introduced a cloud-based video management system built on VXG's technology. Bringing VXG in-house gives Octave full control of its technology stack and supports future product integrations within its Protect workflow environment.

VXG's leadership, led by CEO Yaro Lisitsyn, will remain with the company to continue development of its cloud offerings. The company reported revenues of about one million dollars in 2025 and will be fully consolidated into Octave from May 2026.
