Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Says AI Driving Largest Infrastructure Buildout in History

January 26, 2026
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the global expansion of artificial intelligence is fueling what he described as the largest infrastructure buildout in human history, projecting $85 trillion in investments over the next 15 years.

Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, said the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence is triggering what he called the largest infrastructure buildout in human history. He projected that around $85 trillion will be invested over the next 15 years as companies and governments construct the computing systems required to power AI technologies.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Huang explained that the buildout will include data centers, semiconductor manufacturing plants, and so-called AI factories. He described AI as a layered system beginning with energy and extending through chips and cloud infrastructure, noting that the process remains in its early stages.

Huang said the surge in AI demand is creating significant employment opportunities in areas such as construction, electrical work, network engineering, and design. He added that the increased focus on domestic manufacturing aligns with efforts to re-industrialize the United States.

He also stated that newer Nvidia chips, including the H200 series, are becoming more energy-efficient and cost-effective, allowing AI systems to remain affordable as computing power scales. Huang dismissed concerns about an AI bubble, emphasizing that the technology’s expansion is still in its early phase.
