NTT DATA Expands Data Center Capacity with Strategic Land Acquisitions
NTT DATA has announced the expansion of its Global Data Centers division, securing land across North America, Europe, and Asia to support nearly a gigawatt of planned data center capacity. This move is part of NTT DATA's $10 billion investment strategy through 2027, aimed at enhancing its infrastructure to meet the growing demands of AI-driven applications and cloud computing.
The company has acquired land in seven strategic markets, including new entries in Milan, Italy, and Tochigi, Japan, as well as expansions in existing markets such as Hillsboro, Oregon, and Phoenix, Arizona. These acquisitions will enable NTT DATA to deliver scalable, AI-ready infrastructure to support high-performance workloads and data-intensive applications.
In Milan, NTT DATA will establish operations on a newly acquired 53-acre site, while in Tochigi, Japan, the company plans to develop two high-capacity data centers. In the U.S., the expansion in Hillsboro will add 216MW of capacity, and the new multi-data center campus in Phoenix will bring an anticipated capacity of 324MW.
This strategic expansion underscores NTT DATA's commitment to providing resilient and sustainable infrastructure, positioning the company to meet the evolving needs of enterprises in an increasingly connected world.
