Nomad Health Transitions to AI Operating System for Staffing Firms, Names New CEO

April 28, 2026
Nomad Health announced its transition from a healthcare staffing agency to a software platform company, offering its AI operating system to staffing firms. The company also appointed Tommy Hickey, formerly of Epic Systems, as CEO.

Nomad Health has transitioned from a healthcare staffing agency to a software platform company, offering an AI operating system for mid-market and enterprise healthcare staffing firms across the United States, announced in a press release. The move follows years of internal development and testing within Nomad’s own staffing operations, which have produced more than 15,000 recruiter-free placements and over 11 million billed hours.

Coinciding with this shift, Nomad appointed Tommy Hickey as Chief Executive Officer. Hickey joins from Epic Systems Corporation, where he specialized in enterprise healthcare software and operational problem solving. Outgoing CEO Justin Lambert stated that Hickey’s experience positions him to expand Nomad’s infrastructure across the healthcare staffing industry.

Nomad’s platform consists of four integrated suites: Clinician Suite, Scout (Recruiter Suite), Middle Office Suite, and Intelligence Suite. These modules address areas such as clinician self-service, recruiter automation, credentialing workflows, and predictive analytics. The system can operate as a standalone platform or integrate with existing staffing systems to enable self-service placements.

The company is now accepting inquiries from staffing firms seeking early access and demonstrations through its website, nomadhealth.ai.
