ManagingLife Introduces Solace, an AI Companion for Pain Psychology Support

ManagingLife has launched Solace, an AI companion integrated into its Manage My Pain app, offering evidence-based psychological support for people with chronic pain. A University of Portsmouth study found that a single session with Solace improved pain resilience and reduced anxiety.

ManagingLife has introduced Solace, an artificial intelligence companion that provides evidence-based pain psychology support for people living with chronic pain, announced in a press release. Integrated into the Manage My Pain app, Solace uses established pain-psychology methods such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to deliver real-time support and build personalized action plans for users.

An independent study conducted by the University of Portsmouth found that a single 30-minute session with Solace led to measurable improvements in pain resilience, acceptance, and anxiety reduction among 175 participants. The AI companion received an average usability score of 85.03, rated as excellent.

To ensure safety and transparency, ManagingLife has released an open-access Safety Framework for AI in Therapy, outlining Solace’s guardrails and clinician-reviewed escalation protocols for high-risk situations. The company plans to make Solace available to enterprise partners first, with a wider rollout to all users later this year.

Solace will also be presented at the Global Health Connector Village at HLTH 2025 in Las Vegas from October 19–22.
