MagPro Launches 1.85 MW Chiller for AI Data Centers

MagPro has introduced the AeroLev 1850, an air cooled magnetic bearing chiller designed for AI data centers in hot regions with limited water supplies.

MagPro launches the AeroLev 1850, a 1.85 MW air cooled magnetic bearing chiller, the company said in a press release. The platform is designed for AI data centers in hot regions with limited water supplies.

The system uses an architecture without cooling towers and eliminates evaporative cooling water. It includes an oil free magnetic levitation compressor, automated controls, EC fans and a condenser that provides more than 3°C of subcooling. It also supports free cooling during cooler periods.

AeroLev 1850 can supply chilled water at temperatures up to 45°C for direct to chip and immersion liquid cooling systems. MagPro says the platform provides up to 40% higher overall energy efficiency, up to 8% lower failure rates than conventional oil lubricated compressors and up to 10% lower maintenance costs than conventional chillers.
