Lunai Bioworks CEO Updates Shareholders on Defense Contracts, AI Biodefense, and Legal Action
Lunai Bioworks has issued a shareholder letter outlining progress across its biodefense, neurology, and legal initiatives, announced in a press release. The company confirmed its first revenue-generating defense collaboration with the U.S. Government through BioSymetrics to deploy its AI platform for chemical threat assessment.
Lunai has also established the Pathfinder Consortium, a national alliance of research institutions including Harvard University, Brigham and Women's Hospital, the University of Utah, Purdue University, and the University of Colorado. The company said these partnerships strengthen its biodefense platform, which aligns with priorities set out in the 2027 Defense Authorization Bill calling for the use of AI and biological screening in identifying chemical neurotoxic threats.
In addition to biodefense, Lunai reported continued development of its precision neurology programs using the Augusta AI platform, targeting conditions such as epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, and Alzheimer's. The company cited collaborations with BrainStorm Therapeutics and NIH-supported research on alcohol use disorder.
The letter also disclosed that Lunai has initiated legal action in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware against unidentified parties alleged to have engaged in naked short selling. The court granted expedited discovery, allowing Lunai to obtain trading records to identify the parties involved. The company stated that it intends to pursue the matter to protect shareholder interests.
Lunai concluded that it remains focused on advancing its biodefense and neurology programs while maintaining compliance with NASDAQ listing requirements.
