Research by Arizton projects the Latin America data center construction market to reach $6.93 billion by 2031, supported by Google's $500 million investment in a new digital exchange hub in the Dominican Republic.

The Latin America data center construction market is projected to reach 6.93 billion dollars by 2031, growing at a compound annual rate of 14.92 percent, according to Arizton. The expansion is driven by increasing demand for digital services, cloud computing, and business digitalization across the region.

The report notes that rising use of AI, big data, the Internet of Things, fintech, and streaming platforms is generating large volumes of data, increasing the need for local storage and processing capacity. Companies are investing in regional infrastructure to improve connectivity and data security.

Major markets such as Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, and Colombia continue to attract investment, while other countries in the region are also seeing growth. In February 2026, Google announced a 500 million dollar investment to develop a new digital exchange hub in the Dominican Republic, its first such facility in Latin America outside the United States.

The research by Arizton highlights that these developments reflect sustained momentum in regional data infrastructure expansion.
