KLDiscovery Appoints Julian Merschen as Chief Product Officer, Launches ECAi for AI-Driven eDiscovery
KLDiscovery has appointed Julian Merschen as Chief Product Officer and introduced ECAi, an AI-powered capability built into its Nebula eDiscovery platform, announced in a press release.
ECAi leverages Azure OpenAI large language models to transform case narratives into structured document insights, supporting faster early case assessment and scalable document categorization. The system enables attorneys to organize and review case materials more efficiently at the outset of litigation.
Merschen, who has over 15 years of experience developing AI-driven products, will oversee KLDiscovery’s next phase of AI innovation. The company is showcasing ECAi’s capabilities at Legalweek 2026, highlighting its use of semantic AI to strengthen Nebula’s enterprise eDiscovery platform.
