Just Eat Pauses AI Food Image Tool After Menu Errors
Just Eat has paused the rollout of an AI image tool after it created incorrect pictures for restaurant menu items, according to Silicon UK. The company apologized and said it is removing the affected images.
The tool created placeholder images when a food outlet had not supplied a picture. The images were labeled as AI generated.
One image showed bacon and eggs floating in cola after the tool misinterpreted soda bread. Another showed scrambled eggs with Scrabble style letters after a menu listed “scrabbled eggs.” Just Eat said it will conduct further work on the tool before resuming the rollout.
