Hitachi and Intel Corporation announced in a press release a strategic collaboration to accelerate physical AI, advanced computing, and digital infrastructure across manufacturing, energy, mobility, and other critical industries.

The partnership will combine Hitachi's information and operational technology with Intel's computing and silicon platforms to develop new compute capabilities and industry solutions. The companies will cooperate across five areas: foundry tools, quantum computing, energy optimization, custom silicon, and edge AI applications.

In semiconductor manufacturing, Hitachi will use high precision data from its ExTOPE platform to support predictive diagnostics and process optimization. For quantum computing, both companies will strengthen joint research to advance quantum technologies. In energy optimization, Hitachi's HMAX Energy will be used within Intel's fabrication plants, while Intel will provide high voltage silicon chips to enhance Hitachi's power systems.

The collaboration also includes work on custom silicon and factory automation, focusing on integrating advanced computing and AI technologies to improve industrial efficiency and resilience.
