Hesai Technology unveiled its Picasso 6D full color lidar and Kosmo spatial intelligence platform at its 2026 Technology Open Day, marking a shift toward spatial and physical AI systems.

Hesai Technology has announced a new direction in spatial intelligence, unveiling its Picasso 6D full color SPAD SoC lidar and a new AI hardware platform named Kosmo. The company shared the news during its 2026 Technology Open Day on April 17, according to a press release.

The Picasso lidar is described as the first 6D full color ultra sensitive lidar system on a single chip. It enables native fusion of spatial and color perception at the ASIC level. Built on this technology, Hesai’s ETX lidar series has been upgraded to support up to 4320 channels and is expected to enter mass production in the second half of 2026.

Hesai also introduced Kosmo, a spatial intelligence AI hardware product designed for integration with robotic actuation modules. The company said these modules will support physical AI systems for robotics and automation. The ETX series will be deployed across multiple flagship vehicle models to support Level 3 autonomous driving systems.

Hesai continues to lead the global automotive lidar market, holding over 40 percent share in 2025, and is expanding into robotics applications such as delivery robots, cleaning robots, automated guided vehicles, and robotaxi platforms.
