HD Hyundai Heavy Industries to Supply 1,000 MW Power Systems for U.S. Data Centers
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has signed a USD 673.8 million contract with Corban Energy Group to supply 1,000 MW of power generation systems for U.S. data centers, the company announced in a press release. The systems will support power supply for data centers operated by a major U.S. technology company.
The order includes power generation systems equipped with 9.6 MW HiMSEN engines. HD Hyundai Heavy Industries said it is the company’s largest order to date for power generation engines.
The company said the engines are built for continuous 24/7 operation in data center power supply. HD Hyundai Heavy Industries also signed a USD 425 million agreement in April with U.S. energy infrastructure developer AEG to supply power generation equipment for data centers.
HD Hyundai said demand for U.S. data center power equipment is rising with AI services and cloud infrastructure investment. Other HD Hyundai affiliates are working on related areas, including floating data center technology, power distribution equipment, and engine maintenance services.
