Harvey and Lexis Lead Legal AI Visibility Rankings by 5WPR

May 26, 2026
5WPR released its Legal Tech AI Visibility Index 2026, ranking Harvey, LexisNexis, and Thomson Reuters CoCounsel as top performers in AI search citations for legal technology queries across major AI platforms.

5WPR announced in a press release the release of its Legal Tech AI Visibility Index 2026, the first public ranking of legal technology vendors by AI search citation share. The report analyzed more than 60 buyer prompts across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot, covering categories such as legal AI assistants, contract lifecycle management, eDiscovery, and practice management.

Harvey led the index following its $11 billion valuation and $190 million annual recurring revenue, doubling in five months. LexisNexis Lexis+ and Thomson Reuters CoCounsel also ranked among the top AI-cited legal platforms. In contract lifecycle management, Ironclad, DocuSign CLM, Agiloft, and Icertis dominated AI shortlist results, while Relativity, Everlaw, and DISCO led in eDiscovery following pricing changes that made generative AI review free on two of the three platforms.

Clio topped the practice management segment after its $1 billion acquisition of vLex in 2025. Rising specialist brands gaining visibility included Luminance, Kira (Litera), Spellbook, Robin AI, and EvenUp. The study also noted that mergers and acquisitions, such as Thomson Reuters’ purchases of SafeSend and Materia and Harvey’s acquisition of Hexus, are reshaping AI search outcomes in real time.

According to the report, funding events and benchmark studies have become major factors influencing AI visibility. Vendors that publish comparison content, including Ironclad, Harvey, and Thomson Reuters, tend to retain higher citation shares, while those that do not are losing visibility in AI-generated buyer research.
