Harness Acquires Augment Code Assets and Launches Cosmos Agent

Oct 8, 2026
Harness acquired select Augment Code assets, including Cosmos, the Auggie CLI, and the Code Context Engine. The products will support a new agent that automates work from requirements through reviewed code.

Harness acquired select assets from Augment Code, including Cosmos, the Auggie CLI, and the Code Context Engine, the company said in a press release. The teams behind the products will join Harness.

Cosmos will become the Harness Cosmos Software Factory Agent. It can plan changes from requirements, tickets, or bug reports, write code and tests, respond to review comments, and open pull requests. Each agent operates in an isolated virtual machine, while integrations connect the system with GitHub, Jira, and Slack.

Harness plans to combine the Code Context Engine with its Software Delivery Knowledge Graph. This will give Cosmos access to information such as test cases, security requirements, past incidents, deployments, infrastructure, and costs. Existing Harness agents can then test, secure, deploy, and monitor the resulting code. Harness Cosmos is available now.
