Halo AI and Markel Launch AI-Powered Equine Insurance Platform
Halo AI has launched what it calls the world's first AI-powered equine performance predictor and insurance platform, announced in a press release. Developed with reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter and underwriter Markel Insurance, the platform integrates real-time predictive analytics with embedded insurance to better align with how the bloodstock industry operates.
The platform introduces event-based, micro-duration insurance products such as Race-Day Cover—which insures a horse for a single race—and Fall of Hammer Cover, which provides immediate protection from the moment a yearling is purchased until it reaches its new stable. These offerings are tied to AI-driven risk scores and live valuations, enabling dynamic pricing.
Halo’s system is powered by Hailey, a GPT-based AI agent that provides recommendations on sales, breeding, and race planning. According to the company, Hailey acts as a data-driven bloodstock advisor capable of generating insights beyond human expertise.
The service launches in the UK and Ireland this autumn, with plans to expand into Europe, APAC, and North America in 2026. Halo is also exploring applications of its predictive AI technology in aviation and marine insurance.
