Groundwork BioAg and Anew Climate to Deliver 500,000 Tons of Soil Carbon Credits
Groundwork BioAg and Anew Climate have announced a strategic collaboration to deliver and market approximately 500,000 tons of carbon dioxide removal credits over the next three years. This initiative, announced in a press release, will utilize the Rootella Carbon program, which has been independently verified to sequester an average of 3.89 tons of CO2 equivalent per acre within one year.
The partnership aims to set a new standard for carbon offset markets by leveraging mycorrhizal technology to enhance soil carbon sequestration. The Rootella Carbon program has been validated by SCS Global and complies with the Verra VM0042 standard, ensuring high durability and scientific robustness of the carbon credits.
Growers participating in the program will benefit from premium revenue, receiving up to 70% of net proceeds, while also experiencing in-field gains such as increased crop yields and reduced phosphorus costs. This collaboration underscores the growing demand for scalable and scientifically validated carbon removal solutions in the voluntary carbon market.
