Google Tests Gemini Calls for Pixel 11 Owners

Google is testing Call for Me, a feature that lets Gemini by Google call businesses on a user's behalf, according to TechCrunch. The experiment will initially be available to US Pixel 11 owners with a Gemini subscription and the beta version of Google's Phone app for Android.

Gemini can introduce itself, navigate automated menus, wait on hold, and speak with a business. It can ask whether a product is available, make restaurant reservations, reschedule appointments, and request that stores hold items.

The feature calls from the user's phone number and can share personal information approved by the user. Users can follow the conversation through a live transcript and take control of the call at any time. Google is starting the test with a small group before considering wider availability.
