Google has partnered with Reliance Industries to provide free 18-month access to its AI Pro subscription for eligible Jio 5G users in India, including access to Gemini 2.5 Pro and 2 TB of cloud storage.

Google has announced a partnership with Reliance Industries Ltd to provide free access to its AI Pro subscription for millions of users of Jio Platforms Limited in India. The offer grants eligible subscribers 18 months of complimentary access to the AI Pro plan, which includes tools such as Gemini 2.5 Pro, NotebookLM, and enhanced limits for AI image and video generation. Users will also receive 2 TB of cloud storage across Google Photos, Gmail, and Drive.

The partnership will initially target Jio users aged 18 to 25 before expanding nationwide. Activation can be completed through the MyJio app. The companies stated that the program is valued at approximately ₹35,100 (around $396) per user and is aimed at making advanced AI tools more widely available in India.

Beyond the consumer offer, Reliance’s AI subsidiary, Reliance Intelligence, will collaborate with Google Cloud to expand access to Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) in India. Reliance Intelligence will act as a strategic go-to-market partner for Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise platform and will develop pre-built AI agents for Indian organizations.

The announcement follows recent moves by other AI companies to expand in India, including OpenAI’s free ChatGPT Go offer and growing operations by major AI developers targeting the country’s large internet user base.
