Google Releases Native Gemini App for macOS

Google has launched a native Gemini app for macOS, allowing users to access its AI assistant directly from their desktop. The app supports screen sharing, image and video generation, and is available globally for macOS 15 and later.

Google has released a native macOS version of its Gemini by Google AI assistant, reports TechCrunch. The app allows users to open Gemini from anywhere on their Mac with the shortcut Option + Space, providing quick access to help without switching tabs.

Users can share on-screen content, including local files, with Gemini to receive contextual assistance. For instance, the assistant can summarize charts or documents displayed on the screen. The app also supports image generation using Nano Banana and video creation with Veo.

The Gemini app for macOS is available globally starting today for systems running macOS 15 or later and can be downloaded from gemini.google/mac.
