General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has been awarded a $1.5 billion contract to modernize the U.S. Strategic Command's IT infrastructure, enhancing operational readiness with AI and cloud solutions.

General Dynamics Information Technology has been awarded a $1.5 billion contract to modernize the IT infrastructure of the U.S. Strategic Command, as announced in a press release. The contract, which includes a one-year base period and six option years, aims to enhance operational readiness by leveraging digital engineering capabilities.

GDIT will integrate artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies into STRATCOM's enterprise data, enabling quicker decision-making processes. The company will also transition STRATCOM to a new hybrid cloud environment, providing greater flexibility and scalability. To safeguard the command's networks and data, GDIT plans to implement advanced cyber and zero trust solutions.
