FM has acquired FortressFire, a wildfire intelligence provider that uses machine learning and physics based modeling, the insurer announced in a press release.

Financial terms were not disclosed. FortressFire will operate as an independent, wholly owned division of FM and will continue under its own brand and leadership.

FortressFire's platform helps insurers and property owners assess wildfire risk at the individual property level. Its services include aerial wildfire reports, monitoring, analytics, ground inspections, and mitigation assessments.

The company serves insurers, reinsurers, brokers, real estate professionals, lenders, and property owners. Its tools combine fire physics, thermodynamics, fire behavior modeling, and structure fuel analysis to assess ignition risk and recommend mitigation steps.
