Fermi America has signed agreements with Doosan Enerbility and Hyundai Engineering & Construction to initiate production and engineering work for four AP1000 nuclear reactors in Texas.

Fermi America has signed two major nuclear agreements ahead of President Trump’s visit to Seoul, announced in a press release. The company reached an agreement with Doosan Enerbility to begin forging production of reactor pressure vessels and steam generators for Westinghouse AP1000 projects, securing key components amid supply chain challenges.

Fermi America also signed a Front-End Engineering Design contract with Hyundai Engineering & Construction to start engineering work on four AP1000 reactors for Project Matador, a private grid campus under construction in the Texas Panhandle. The project aims to supply nuclear power to major U.S. technology companies.

The company noted that its combined operating license application was accepted for review by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in September. A full engineering, procurement, and construction agreement with Hyundai E&C is expected in early 2026.

Texas state support for nuclear initiatives was also highlighted, including the creation of the Texas Advanced Nuclear Energy Office and $350 million in legislative funding for nuclear innovation programs.
