DNB to Cut 400 Technology Jobs as AI Agent Use Expands

Norway's largest bank plans to cut about 400 technology jobs as it expands the use of AI agents for coding, technology development and compliance work.

DNB plans to cut about 400 jobs in its technology teams as it increases investment in AI agents, according to Finextra. The Norwegian bank uses the agents for tasks including coding, technology development and know your customer compliance.

DNB said the tools are reducing manual work, speeding up processes and increasing capacity. The bank expects the restructuring to begin in the fourth quarter and finish by the end of the year.

DNB plans to provide further details later this year. Its shares rose 1% following the announcement.
