Cyient Semiconductors Launches GaN Power IC Family Using Navitas Technology
Cyient Semiconductors has introduced India's first gallium nitride (GaN) power integrated circuit family, developed using technology from Navitas Semiconductor. The launch was announced in a press release and marks Cyient Semiconductors' entry into the commercial GaN market with seven new power devices.
The new GaN portfolio is designed for applications requiring high efficiency and power density, including AI data centers, telecommunications, consumer fast charging, industrial power systems, and e-mobility platforms. Each device integrates drive, control, and protection functions in DPAK packages, simplifying system design and improving thermal performance.
Under the licensing agreement, Cyient Semiconductors will use Navitas technology to produce GaN devices for the Indian market and act as a second source for select Navitas products already in mass production. The company plans to begin sampling the first set of GaN power products by June 2026 and aims to expand domestic manufacturing capabilities through partnerships with local assembly and test providers.
