CCRM, OmniaBio, and Avectas Partner to Advance Cell Therapy Manufacturing
CCRM and its subsidiary OmniaBio have entered into an agreement with Avectas to evaluate Avectas' automated, integrated, and scalable cell therapy manufacturing platform, announced in a press release. The evaluation will focus on how the platform can support standardized and automated workflows within CCRM's global network and OmniaBio's manufacturing operations.
OmniaBio, Canada's largest contract development and manufacturing organization for cell and gene therapies, is developing the Intelligent Factory system that uses automation and robotics to improve manufacturing efficiency and consistency. The collaboration with Avectas will explore how its technology could complement these efforts and address challenges in scaling and cost control for advanced therapies.
CCRM operates hubs in Canada, Australia, and the Nordic countries and recently signed a memorandum of understanding with RINN Advanced Therapies to explore establishing CCRM Ireland. The proposed Irish hub aims to strengthen local capabilities in advanced therapy development and manufacturing while expanding international collaboration opportunities.
Avectas, based in Ireland, has developed a manufacturing platform designed to improve automation and scalability in cell therapy production. The company was previously involved in a collaboration with CCRM in 2020 and continues to advance its technology to meet the needs of regional and global cell therapy manufacturing.
