Caplight Technologies has been awarded a patent for its AI-powered pricing feed, which aims to improve transparency in private markets, announced in a press release. The U.S. Patent No. 12,243,130 B2 covers Caplight's proprietary method for estimating private company stock prices using secondary market transaction data.

The patented technology, which powers Caplight MarketPriceTM, aggregates private market data to generate price estimates and visualize them through an interactive interface. This tool is designed to assist private company investors, shareholders, and brokers in understanding market-clearing price levels.

Caplight's CEO, Javier Avalos, highlighted the importance of accurate and timely pricing data for venture capital investors to make informed liquidity decisions. The company's CTO, Justin Moore, emphasized that the technology addresses information asymmetry in the secondary market, enhancing liquidity in the venture capital ecosystem.
