Camtek Acquires Visual Layer to Expand AI Capabilities in Semiconductor Inspection
Camtek Ltd. announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Visual Layer, a Tel Aviv-based artificial intelligence company focused on visual analytics, announced in a press release. The acquisition aims to deepen Camtek’s visual AI capabilities in its inspection and metrology systems for the semiconductor industry.
Visual Layer was founded by Danny Bickson and Amir Alush and is backed by Silicon Valley venture capital firms. The company brings proprietary AI technology and a team with expertise in visual intelligence. Camtek has already collaborated with Visual Layer for over a year, integrating its technology and working jointly on research and development.
Camtek CEO Rafi Amit said the acquisition will accelerate the company’s AI initiatives and improve its ability to meet growing market demands. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in the coming weeks. Financial details were not disclosed, with additional information to be provided alongside Camtek’s first-quarter 2026 results.
