BBVA has announced an expanded partnership with Google Cloud to deploy Google Workspace with Gemini across its global operations, announced in a press release. This initiative aims to enhance the productivity of BBVA's 100,000 employees by integrating generative AI tools into everyday applications like Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Sheets.

The deployment of Google Workspace with Gemini is part of BBVA's comprehensive AI adoption strategy, which has been in collaboration with Google Cloud since 2011. Employees will benefit from AI-driven features that automate repetitive tasks, saving nearly three hours per week on average, and allowing more time for strategic work.

In addition to Google Workspace, BBVA employees will have access to the standalone Gemini app and NotebookLM, an AI-powered research and writing assistant. These tools will assist in tasks such as research, report generation, and collaboration, further boosting productivity and innovation within the bank.

To ensure effective and ethical use of these AI tools, BBVA has launched a mandatory training program called 'AI Express'. This program aligns with the European Union's AI Act and BBVA's internal policies, preparing employees to use AI responsibly and in accordance with governance standards.
