Baselayer Raises $35 Million and Launches Identity Suite for AI Agents

Baselayer raised a $35 million Series A led by M13 and launched a suite for verifying the identity, authority, and risk of autonomous AI agents.

Baselayer raised a $35 million Series A led by M13, the company announced in a press release. Torch Capital, Picus Ventures, Afore Capital, and Socure executive Matt Thompson also participated.

The company also launched its Agentic Identity Suite, which helps institutions identify an AI agent, determine whom it represents, and verify whether it is authorized and safe to complete a transaction. Baselayer is extending its existing business identity and risk infrastructure to autonomous agents that act for people and companies.

Founded in 2024 by Jonathan Awad and Timothy Hyde, Baselayer provides identity verification and risk tools to more than 2,300 financial institutions and payment companies. It works with agent builders, card networks, financial institutions, and payment providers including FIS, Prove, Socure, Exa, and Parallel Web Systems.
